On the roads of Life! – Haiku

On the Roads of Life!!

On a journey yet again

came another dead-end; Yet again I dare

and learn – it’s just another bend!

 Thru’ those arid roads, you

may lonely be, but some subtle signs

you often fail to see!

Signs that quietly say,

hold on to your dreams, my friend

you still have far to sway!

When you feel alone

Walk until the road ends, You’ll find

Me there – Waiting on those bends!

P.S. Tried my first Haiku ‘series‘ today and realized how difficult it is to close it in 17 syllables. But in the end, found it a powerful way of expressing things in short; sometimes it is all about saying a lot in lesser words.

  1. The road of life- an ongoing journey full of bitter-sweet experiences that are treasured till we reach the final destination. Beautiful set of haiku poems… 🙂

    1. Thank you Maniparna.. Do they even look like ones? This is the first time I wrote them. I sort of ended up writing a full-page poem instead of 17 lines…. 🙂

      1. You mean 17 syllables…right? A traditional haiku has 17 syllables in the form 5-7-5. Though modern haiku poets and American Haiku Society have made the form lenient and easier… 🙂

        1. Yah, 17 syllables.. Still getting used to Haiku-ing jargons… 🙂

    1. Hey thanks Somnath for connecting. Great to see you here. Yah, it seems much like that, although I am as clueless about Japanese Twitter as I am about Haiku. But yes, I had been an Aikido practitioner in Delhi for more than an year.. So, that is all I could really connect with Japan…. 🙂
