Spent a weekend along the ‘Gorewada Biodiversity Park’. An 8 Kms. trail developed along the Gorewada Lake, the source of water supply for the Nagpur City, this lake is an abode to hundreds of beautiful birds, some of them migratory. Every morning, avid photographers and health enthusiasts walk the trail to enjoy and get themselves close to the nature.
My purpose! To view the sunrise along the horizon and do my favorite sunrise photography. Though the weekend was in a foggy mood, and the sun was gloomy. The birds seemed to be in a happy mood though. The trails showed the information of some of the species of the animals and birds available in the park. Some of the bird species available here are the Painted bar-headed geese, red necked falcon, Baya weaver birds, peacock and of course some Siberian friends such as the Siberian Stonechat, Red Crested Pochard etc. Vidarbha region has more than 350 species of birds available. Some common animals that can be spotted here are the Wild Ass, Black Buck, Nilgai, Chinkara and leopards.
An ideal place for both Day & Night Safaris, this park is on its way for a major redevelopment into a full scale Nature Park. One of the great ways that this park can be developed is keeping an Experiential learning theme based in Singapore. Not only will it be a great tourist spot, but also a good place for the children to learn about the the nature.
The Singapore Zoo and Bird Sanctuary attracts more than 1.5 million visitors coming in and out of the city every week. About 40% of the travelers are families and kids. If developed in a proper way, we can have the same repute. The park is a great place for all those who want to learn about natural habitat, photography, adventure and wild life. Overall, I had a great weekend and I look forward to another great weekend soon.
